This Cookie Policy explains how Essay+, operated by Serenium LLP, uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and pixels) on our website and app. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a site. They help the site work, remember your choices, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used.
3. The categories we use
Strictly necessary. Required for the Service to function, for example to authenticate you and keep your session secure, and to remember your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off without breaking core functionality.
Functional. Remember preferences and settings to improve your experience.
Analytics. Help us understand how people use Essay+ so we can improve it, for example which features are used and where people run into trouble. We use these in an aggregated, privacy-respecting way.
What we do not use. We do not use advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not use cookies to build advertising profiles.

5. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by the providers above (for example, PostHog for analytics and Stripe during checkout). Their use of data is governed by their own privacy and cookie policies.
6. Your choices
When required, we ask for your consent to non-essential (analytics) cookies through a consent banner, with non-essential cookies off by default until you agree. You can change your choices at any time from your cookie settings, and you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the Service from working.
7. Children
Consistent with our Privacy Policy, we do not use cookies or similar technologies to track, profile, or advertise to children. Analytics involving accounts known to belong to children are limited to what is necessary to operate and secure the Service.
8. Changes
We may update this policy as our use of cookies changes. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date.
